The Rhythm of Life A conversation with Aminah Chishti and Joshua Miller
Join us in the first episode of a new Livestream series to look at the benefits of adding a rhythm, sound and a devotional practice to your life.
On this discussion, we will learn from Aminah Chishti a master percussionist and Tabla player having studied under her Ustad Dildar Hussain Khan from the Sufi Qawwali tradition in Pakistan. In my lessons with Aminah, we talk about how the Tabla can be a lesson for all of life and help improve mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health and wellbeing.
There will be some playing as well as discussion so be sure to grab a good pair of headphones!

Aminah Chishti Qawwal has been a leading force in the art of traditional qawwali tabla. A student of the great Ustad Dildar Hussain Khan, Aminah was formally initiated by her teacher in 2003. She has challenged the cultural confines of women in Pakistan and India not only by performing tabla in an all-male arena, but also by receiving permission to perform at the shrines of Pakistan's greatest sufi saints, where women haven't traditionally been allowed to play.
