Joshua Sam Miller
Founder, Chief Sound Explorer
"I am inspired by the opportunity to build bridges between worlds and use music as a tool to help us unite and listen. "
Joshua Sam Miller is a sound explorer & community builder with a passion to use sound to improve our collective mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health. He believes that in our fast-paced modern world, it is critical to slow our minds down and drop into our hearts to create authentic connection and live our true purpose. Joshua is a skilled composer and performing musician, specializing in meditative beats and soothing melodies that transport listeners to an altered state of consciousness. He has performed in the United States, Europe, Middle East, Bali, Australia & India. In 2019, Joshua created Sounds of the Ocean, a mindful journey to listen and connect with marine life in support of ocean conservation. This project was featured at COP26 in Glasgow, and at Burning Man as well as being featured by the International Year of Sound and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Creative Consultant & Spiritual Guide
"Music and dance are one's true language of the soul."
Elise Lein, (MPhil) brings over a decade of creative and spiritual wisdom to Embodied Sounds. She dances in Sounds of the Ocean, guiding participants back from meditation to the physical world. Elise believes in dance and music as one’s true language of the soul and authentic expression as a process of deep healing and spiritual transformation –for oneself, our society and the environment. Growing up in a musical family with a classical background, Elise began studying ballet and piano at age five, participating in many concerts and dance competitions as a child. Her creative journey went from following this strict classical model to freeing her art, mind and soul on the path of spirituality and healing. Elise has extensive practical experience in film production and storytelling as well, working on documentaries in Europe about climate change and environmental topics. She believes strongly in the path of transformation from mental/personal health to our global and environmental health.
